JUNIOR FOCUSES CLOSE OUT 2009 AT VENTURA NOVEMBER 21

Kyle Edwards of Fountain Valley, Calif. is set to put the cap on his 2009 USAC Junior Focus Series Championship November 21 when the series concludes at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. The race is party of the track’s “J.W. Mitchell Fall Classic” which also features the USAC Western Midgets in an event offering $5,000 to the winner.

Edwards finished third in Saturday night’s 20-lap feature at the 1/5-mile dirt oval in a race won by Dennis Simunovich of Hollister, Calif. For Simunovich, it was his seventh win this season and solidified his third-place series ranking. He led all 20 laps and was trailed at the checkered flag by Casey Martinez, Edwards, Tanner Kershaw and Andrew Murray.
