Perris, CA — The West Coast’s most famous hot dogs, Pink’s, will be available at the November 5th, 6th and 7th 14th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals at Perris Auto Speedway. Known as the “Hot Dog to The Stars,” Pink’s has been a Los Angeles tradition for 70 years! However, this year the legendary hot dog will be a popular “Rookie” at the Oval Nationals.
Located at the same location near the corner of Melrose and La Brea since 1939, Pink’s is known around the globe. “Pink’s is a Southern California institution,” PAS promoter Don Kazarian said with a hungry smile. “Their hot dogs are legendary and their location is a tourist attraction. The line winds back in forth in front of the building rain or shine and you never know who you are going to see standing in the line with you. Movie & TV stars, famous musicians and politicians are there every day. This will be a special treat for fans visiting the Oval Nationals from other parts of the country as well as Southern California fans who are Pink’s regulars.”
The same night as the Oval Nationals final, Pink’s will begin its week long 70th Anniversary Chili Dogs for Charity Celebrity Event at the Hollywood location. The celebration will be 7 days for 70 minutes at 7:00 PM each night and the Pink’s famous Chili Cheese Dogs will be sold for .70c. Each night a famous celebrity will be making an appearance. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of hot dogs sold during the celebration hour will be donated to the charity of the celebrities’ choice. Among the celebrities who will be on hand are Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa (November 9), Jason Alexander (November 11) and Bill Cosby (November 12).
The Budweiser Oval Nationals is three nights of intense, full points paying races for the USAC National Sprint Car Series and the USAC/CRA Series. The Thursday and Friday preliminary nights will include qualifying, heat races, preliminary and A main events. The Oval Nationals will culminate on Saturday the 7th with the final main events of the weekend including the 40-lap Oval Nationals Championship A Main.
In addition to the USAC racing, there will be a practice session that will be free for the public in the grandstands on Wednesday, November 4th, beginning at 5:00 PM. The Lightning Sprint Cars will race heat races on the 6th and a main event on the 7th. Also, on the 7th, there will be an on track autograph session, annual Corn Hole Tournament and two popular Southern California bands, Unit 287 and Causal Tease, will be playing before the races and during breaks in the action.
