ELDORA MARKETING STAFF SET TO LOG MILES

By Larry Boos

ROSSBURG, OH (January 29) – Eldora Speedway’s marketing team will be travelling up and down the highway, with their specially designed Sprint Car, over the next several weeks promoting the famed speed plant to a variety of audiences.

Stop number one will be this weekend (January 30) in Indianapolis at the Indiana State Fairgrounds for the 10th annual Indy Circle Track Expo. Begun as a simple swap meet in Kokomo, the Expo has grown to mammoth proportions and now includes an auction and trade show, in addition to the swap meet.

For this meet, the aerodynamic wing will be removed, to promote the four non-winged Sprint events at Eldora in 2010.

The following weekend, the wing will be put back on, as the team travels to Columbus, Ohio and the Ohio State Expo for the Ohio Motorsports Expo on Saturday, February 6.

Each of the events will also include a television monitor with DVD’s exploiting the Eldora action to curious onlookers.

Winding up the hectic mid-winter schedule will be a visit to Gover Harley-Davidson in Piqua, Ohio for their ‘Beat the Winter Blues’ promotion on Saturday, February 20.

In addition to the Sprint Car showpiece, track owner Tony Stewart has also had a two-seater Late Model built that the team uses for shows and displays.

That car will begin seeing action in March, when another full slate of appearances will keep the Eldora crew busy.

Eldora’s 2010 season will kick off the weekend of April 2 & 3 with an invasion by the non-winged United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint Car fraternity.
