KNOXVILLE, IOWA (February 15, 2010) – The initial program in the National Sprint Car Museum’s new “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series is all set to debut this Thursday, February 18, with the “Salute to Bob Trostle” on the museum’s second floor at 7 p.m. Said curator Tom Schmeh today, “The museum had to postpone the program on the third Thursday in January due to an ice storm and then Bob experienced more medical complications last week, but I think we are all finally ready to make it happen this Thursday night. I just got off the phone with Bob and he and Dorotha are excited about coming down to Knoxville and joining their friends and family in a relaxed and fun atmosphere as we honor him again for his Hall of Fame career. I would encourage fans from around Iowa and surrounding states to make the effort to come to the museum on February 18 for our long-awaited free and open-to-the-public special reception for sprint car builder-owner-mechanic Bob Trostle.”

Those individuals interested in learning more about the “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum are urged to visit www.sprintcarhof.com. Knoxville Raceway directors of racing Ralph Capitani and P. Ray Grimes will be feted on Thursday, March 18, at 7 p.m. on the museum’s second floor.
