$20,000 POINT FUND FOR WEST COAST 360s

From Dick Jordan

(SANTA MARIA, CA – FEBRUARY 6, 2010) Series Promoter Chris Kearns has announced that the USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series will have a $20,000 point fund. With sponsorship provided by the United States Auto Club, Hoosier Tire, and SouthWest Contractors, the series champion is guaranteed a minimum of $5,000. “It is great to have a sanctioning body like USAC involved in the West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series. When someone thinks of Non-Wing Sprint Car Racing, USAC is obviously the first name to come to mind,” says Kearns. “I am very humbled that USAC has chose to support our series.”

Santa Maria Speedway, Tulare’s Thunderbowl Raceway, Bakersfield Speedway and Hanford’s Giant Speedway will host the 20-race schedule, including the SouthWest Contractors 360 Clash. The 4 race mini-series will be held April 10th at Tulare, May 29th at Bakersfield, August 28th at Santa Maria, and September 11th at Hanford. The 360 Clash will carry it’s own $5,000 point fund.

“USAC is proud to extend its enterprise in the Western Region. 360 Sprint Car racing is a natural extension for USAC and I feel being a part of the West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series is a perfect fit for us,” says USAC President Kevin Miller. “Chris Kearns has a great formula for 360 Sprint Car racing and we are proud to be part of it and will support the series will any of the resources we can provide.”

USAC will be sanctioning the West Coast 360 Sprint Cars and competitors must have a USAC West Coast 360 membership if attending more than 1 event. Memberships are $250 for drivers and $150 for crewmembers. The driver memberships will include discount pit pass rates at all USAC tracks and eligibility for both the $20,000 championship point fund and the $5,000 SouthWest Contractors 360 Clash point fund.

With a West Coast 360 USAC membership packet, drivers will receive product certificates from Crow Enterprises ($30), Hinchman-Indy Racing Uniforms ($100), DJ Safety ($50), Kruseman Driving School ($200), Kaeding Performance ($25), Extreme Mufflers ($50), Saferacer.com (10%), and Amsoil (25%). Drivers that attend all 20 USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car events will be eligible for drawing at the end of the year. To date, a new set of Integra Racing Shocks are in the drawing.

“It is going to be awesome to have USAC’s resources available to us. Our racers deserve the National recognition they are now going to receive,” says Kearns. “I feel we are really taking a step in the right direction for 360 Non-Wing Sprint Car Racing. We are getting tremendous support from the racers, and already have great support from SouthWest Contractors as one of our main points fund sponsors.”

The USAC West Coast 360 Sprint Car Series will open their 2010 campaign at the Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway on March 6th with the World of Outlaws. For more information, visit www.tularethunderbowl.com and www.racesantamariaspeedway.com.
