J&J TEAMS WIN AROUND THE GLOBE

J&J P.R.

McKENZIE, Tenn. (March 2) – Sprint car action on the final weekend of February resulted in a familiar trend with J&J Auto Racing teams coming home victorious. Defending All-Star champion, Tim Shaffer, won a pair of ASCS events in Florida while Ian Loudoun continued J&J’s dominance at Tyrepower Parramatta City Raceway (TPCR) in Australia.

EAST BAY WINTERNATIONALS

Tim Shaffer and the C&H Motorsports team were hoping to make a statement during this year’s Florida Speedweeks. During the “Kings” portion of East Bay Raceway Park’s 34th Annual Winter Nationals, they certainly were a factor.

Shaffer opened the program by racing the C&H Motorsports No. 83 Kistler-powered J&J from the seventh starting position into the lead on lap 18 of the 25-lap feature event.

The following night Shaffer started from the fifth spot and once again worked his way into the lead. This time it was early in the race when he assumed command taking over the post position on lap five. With only one stoppage during the 25-lap affair, Shaffer flawlessly worked through traffic to score the win.

“The car was so good, I could move around where they weren’t,” admitted the winner.

With two victories in already, Shaffer was tabbed as the favorite for the event finale. Shaffer once again came from the fifth position and was in the lead when disaster struck. He lost power with only two laps remaining in his bid to collect $15,000. Instead, he was credited with a 12th-place finish.

Smokin’ Joe Ramaker made the long tow from Montana to compete in the event and came home eighth in the finale driving his No. 98 J&J.

TYREPOWER PARRAMATTA CITY RACEWAY

Ian Loudoun won his second consecutive A-Main victory at TPCR Sprintcar Track Championship Round 16 event. Loudoun, who drives the No. 18N J&J, used lapped traffic to his advantage late in the 30-lap race to overtake his teammate for the lead position.

“I have to thank my team who have continued to work hard all year after we didn’t start the season so well,” said Loudoun. “Hopefully we can continue to finish the season off strongly and put this Blackshaws Motor Body Repairs, Integrity Locksmiths car in victory lane a few more times.”

Loudoun ranks fifth in the TPCR standings with three races remaining.

OTHER SOLID J&J FINISHES:

Ryan Farrell charged from his 19th-starting position to finish second in Saturday night’s Krikke Boys Shootout at Bunbury City Speedway in Western Australia. Farrell piloted the No. 95 Monte Motorsport J&J through the field, but simply came up one spot short. He was followed by Robbie Farr in the Eastcoast Pipeline No. 7q J&J, and Steve Lines in the H.A. Young Plumbing / Camden Neon Signs sponsored No. 45 J&J. Luch Monte had a strong showing as well in the No. 17 Monte Motorsport J&J…..In World of Outlaws action, Donny Schatz led 26 laps of the WoO’s Las Vegas Super Sprint Classic in Tony Stewart Racing’s No. 15 Armor All/STP J&J before finishing third.
