ATTICA, Ohio – A forecast of very cold temperatures mixed with rain has prompted the cancellation of racing for opening night Friday, March 26 at Attica Raceway Park. “Ohio’s Finest Racing” speedplant will open its 2010 season on Friday, April 2 with the 410 winged sprints, Fultz Fabrications and Speed Shop UMP Late Models and Fremont Fence 305 sprints in action on Northern Ohio Truck Center Night. There is a rain date for Saturday, April 3.

“The forecast called for temperatures in the 20s with a strong northeast wind and we just didn’t want to put our great fans and race teams through that. Our teams spend a lot of time and money on their equipment and it’s just not worth risking all,” said Attica Operations Director Rex LeJeune.

Gates will open next Friday at 4 p.m. with racing underway at 7:45 p.m.

And coming Friday and Saturday, April 9 and 10, the HD Supply Spring Nationals featuring the O’Reilly All Star Circuit of Champion Sprint Cars. The late models join the sprints on Friday with the 305 sprints on the card Saturday.
