BLAND TAKES OPENER AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Jeff Bland, Jr., Troy Clark and Chad Combs were opening night feature winners at Bloomington Speedway on Hoosier Country 105 Night at Bloomington Speedway, Friday, April 16, 2010.

Bland used his front row starting position to win the Grimes Pools and Spas 30-lap Sprint Car feature. He was followed by rookie Eric Smith, Dickie Gaines, Casey Shuman and Casey Riggs in the top five.

Defending Bloomington Speedway Sprint Car champion Brady Short brought out a red flag when he flipped off the ¼-mile track in turn 2. Short was not injured, but he was finished for the evening.

The next night of racing at Bloomington Speedway is the Spring Clash on Friday night, April 23. The Sprint Car drivers will be racing for a $3,000 first place check, while the Super Stock and Modified drivers will be racing for first place checks of $600 and $700 respectively. Gates open at 5:30, and general admission tickets are $15 with children 12 and under FREE.
