Mercer, PA…Prospective new Mercer Raceway Park owner Bill Altman wants to make Mercer Raceway Park the premier Sprint Car track in the western Pennsylvania/eastern Ohio area. Altman recently announced the Luxaire Heating & Cooling 410 Sprint Cars would pay an area high $1,500 to-win on a weekly basis and increased the payoff from positions 2-24.

Now Altman, with the help of promoter Terry Bowser, has secured five Goodyear rear tire certificates to be given away on a nightly basis. The certificates will be distributed in the following manner on a per night basis effective this Saturday, April 24 (providing the driver runs Goodyears on all four corners):

· Certificate 1 will be awarded to the feature winner meaning he will now receive a minimum of approximately $1,700 in cash and prizes!

· Certificate 2 will be awarded to the hard charger- the driver that passes the most cars from his initial starting position in the feature (excluding the feature winner).

· Certificate 3 will be awarded to the last car running on the lead lap at the finish.

· Certificate 4 and 5 will be random drawings after the feature for any driver that competed in the previous two race events (excluding certificate winners from above).

“We really wanted to be able to give back to the racers and show our support for their loyalty,” explained Altman. “Now with the increased purse and the ability to win a new tire per night, this should really help the racers out. It will allow five different drivers to win Goodyear Tire certificates per night. There are a lot of racers that have never run a new tire so those drivers now may win a tire as well as take home a little extra purse money.”

Also, Mercer Raceway Park will do a random drawing this Saturday night awarding the 10 retroactive certificates from April 3 and April 10 to drivers that competed in the prior two nights in addition to Saturday night. The 17 drivers eligible provided they compete this Saturday night are Ed Lynch, Bob Felmlee, Carl Bowser, Mike Lutz, Jason Dolick, Jack Sodeman, Danny Holtgraver, Rod George, Charlie Holben, Dan Kuriger, Brad Knab, Jeff Taylor, Brent Matus, Brandon Matus, Pete Miller, Chris Shuttleworth, & Joe McEwen. These certificates have no bearing on Saturday’s five that will be awarded after the feature.

Mercer Raceway Park will feature the Luxaire Heating & Cooling 410 Sprint Cars, Approved Toilet Rentals Modifieds, 4 Your Car Connection FASTRAK Late Models, Big Daddy’s Speed Center Stock Cars, and the M&D Paving Mini Stocks this Saturday night at 7 p.m. for “2 for $20 Adult Admissions” presented by The Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
