VANCOUVER, Wash. – The IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour will kick off its second year of racing this Friday with a full night of action at Lebanon, Ore.’s Willamette Speedway, the same place where the NWWT closed its inaugural season last fall.

Friday’s event, featuring both the NWWT wingless 360 sprint cars and the NWWT midget cars, is the first of three at the Arnold Family’s facility in 2010. The series will return for another sprint car / midget dual show on Friday, July 30th and will again close the season at Willamette Speedway with both classes in action on Saturday, October 9th.

Several cars in both division are expected for the event. Grays Harbor Raceway Ford Focus midget champion Seth Hespe, who came close winning last fall’s event at Willamette Speedway, is among the drivers confirming his intent to participate. The NorthWest Wingless Tour will also debut its new race and points format for 2010, replacing the more complicated version used last season. All heat races will now be evenly balanced based on qualifying – no more fast heats and slow heats.

Pit gates open at 1 p.m. and spectator gates open at 3:00, with hot laps and qualifying at about 5:00 and racing at 7:00. More information on the IXL NorthWest Wingless Tour can be found online at http://www.nwwinglesstour.com.
