Jimmy McCune won a hard-fought victory at Auto City Speedway on Saturday night, capturing the Must See Racing Twin 20 feature event. The Toledo, Ohio driver becomes the first repeat winner of the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Series this year.

The event featured a unique Twin 20 qualifying feature format that required drivers to race their way through a full night of heat races, qualifying feature, and 20-lap feature event.

Canadian Mike Ling earned high point honors and promptly rolled a “10” on the inversion dice, setting up a very challenging feature race. Ling mounted a frantic charge from 10th to move into third in the late going before an aborted start moved him back to fifth, where he ultimately finished.

Jason Cox, who graduated from high school just weeks ago, held off a late-race charge from series point leader Troy DeCaire to finish second, a career best. DeCaire held third at the finish, continuing his strong 2010 season.

Fourth was Ryan Litt, who posted the quickest time in time trials and led point production through the heat races. The run matches Litt’s season best finish. Ling held fifth at the finish, with the second five consisting of Jason Blonde, Dorman Snyder, Dave Baumgartner, Travis Miniea, and Jeff Bloom.

Qualifying races were won by Miniea and Hank Lower, while heats were won by McCune, Ling, and Blonde.

The series looks next to the ultra-fast Kalamazoo Speedway on Saturday, July 17, with upcoming races following at Salem Speedway on Aug. 14, Slinger Speedway on Aug. 21, and Dells Raceway Park on Sept. 11.
