Kulhanek Claims HOT ASCS Regional Showdown Triumph!

WACO, Texas (July 23, 2010) – Current American Sprint Car Series Gulf South points leader Ray Allen Kulhanek represented his series well by winning Friday night’s 25-lap ASCS Gulf South vs. ASCS Lone Star main event at Heart O’ Texas Speedway.

The 2005 ASCS Gulf South champ raced from the front row outside starting position to claim his first win of the year and tenth Gulf South score of his career in the opening leg of the Gulf South vs. Lone Star Showdown.

Kulhanek raced to the stripe in David Miller’s 105 Machine & Custom-powered Miller’s RV Park/Smiley’s Racing Products No. 21T J&J ahead of Skip Wilson, with Gary Wright claiming the show position.

Claud Estes crossed the stripe in fourth, with Kolt Walker rounding out the top five. Preston Peebles II was sixth, with Joshua Hodges, 18th-starter Tommy Bryant, 20th-starter Brandon Corn and Martin Edwards completing the top ten.

Hodges, Wright, Edwards, Kulhanek, Walker and Chris Sweeney topped heat race action for the 42-car field, with Justin Melton and Eric Baldaccini winning the “B” Mains.
