Road to the Hewitt Classic stops at Eldora and Fremont this Saturday and Sunday!

Two more stops remain on the mini series sponsored by Hoosier Racing Tire leading up to August 7th’s $4000 to win 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic at Waynesfield Raceway Park, and these events my be the most important, as the winners will receive a guaranteed starting spot in the Hewitt Classic A Main. Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio will serve as the next stop on Saturday night July 31st, and Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio on Sunday August 1st will be the last 2 stops before the 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic at Waynesfield on Saturday August 7th

The traditional sprint car mini-series series sponsored by Hoosier Tire, has seen four races so far beginning on Friday, May 28th at the Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Indiana, with Travis Welpott picking up the victory. Next up was the June 19th event at Waynesfield Raceway Park, with Matt Westfall getting a hard fought win. Then on July 2nd, Gas City I-69 Speedway held the first of four Hewitt Classic Qualifiers, which not only count for series points, but also guarantees the winner a starting spot in the $4000 to win, 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic at Waynesfield Raceway Park on Saturday August 7th. The Madman Robert Ballou picked up the victory at Gas City, with Matt Westfall winning at Waynesfield Raceway Park on Saturday July 3rd, locking themselves into the Hewitt Classic.

This Saturday night July 31st will see the Non Wing Warriors compete at the world famous Eldora Speedway for $2000 to win and a guaranteed position in the 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic. Napa Auto Parts is presenting the racing program at Eldora this Saturday which also features the Fastrak Late Models in their annual trek to the legendary half mile clay oval. There will also be an open practice on Friday July 30th at Eldora for all teams wishing to get some track time before this big event. On Sunday night August 1st, the “Road to the Hewitt Classic” moves on to Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio for the final Hewitt Qualifier. This event was originally scheduled to take place at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio but necessity forced track promoter Rich Farmer to move the event to Fremont. The Non-Wing Sprints will compete at “The Track That Action Built” for a top prize of $2,500. Along with the Non Wing Sprints, the Fremont Fence Dirt trucks will also be in action as they take on the invading stock cars. Gates will open at 4PM with racing at 7PM. The Road to the 2nd Annual Jack Hewitt Classic will culminate on Saturday August 7th at Waynesfield Raceway Park when the Lane Automotive Michigan Traditional Sprints co sanction the biggest show of the year at WRP. $4000 awaits the winner of this tremendous event honoring one of the all time greats in racing. The series points champion will be crowned on this night as well. Jack will also be on hand to provide a “Ride of a Lifetime” for one lucky fan who will start the A-Main feature from the back of Jack’s 2 seater sprint car. In 2009, Matt Westfall held off a charging Jon Stanbrough to win the 1st Annual Jack Hewitt Classic.
