BLOOMINGTON, Ind., Aug. 3, 2010 – With just six nights of racing remaining in the 2010 season, drivers and teams will not only be focusing on championship points they will also simply be trying to get a 2010 victory at Bloomington Speedway, one of Indiana’s most prestigious short tracks.

After its mid-summer break, Bloomington Speedway will open its gates Friday night, Aug. 6, for South Central Building & Construction Trade Council Night. It’s the 10th consecutive year for this special night which always attracts a large crowd.

The racing action will be fast and furious in Bloomington Speedway’s three exciting classes of race cars Friday night as the winless drivers will be trying hard to get their first Bloomington “W” of the year.

The Grimes Pool and Spas Sprint Cars have seen four different winners this year, with both Jeff Bland Jr. (Springfield, Ind.) and Jon Stanbrough (Avon, Ind.) each having three wins apiece. Local racer Danny Holtsclaw (Bloomfield, Ind.) and Jon Sciscoe (Bloomington, Ind.) are the other two drivers who have snared Grimes Pool and Spas Sprint Car wins.

In O’Neal Wood Products UMP Modifieds racing, Clint Demoss is simply ‘the man’ at Bloomington Speedway in 2010. Demoss (Bloomington, Ind.) has six feature wins in 2010. Other O’Neal Wood Products UMP Modified winners are Chad Combs (Bloomington, Ind.), Rob Fuqua (Paris, Ill.) and Shelby Miles (Bloomington, Ind.).

Four different drivers have also pulled into the Tire and Wheel Center UMP Indiana Super Stock victory lane. Chris Hillman (Camby, Ind.), Troy Clark (North Vernon, Ind.), Brad Cummings (Bedford, Ind.) and Jeremy Hines (Seymour, Ind.) all have two “W’s” at Bloomington so far this season.
