McCool Junction, Neb., Aug. 4—Bryan Clauson capped off a perfect week winning Wednesday Night’s Cornhusker Midget Challenge sponsored by NAPA Auto Parts at Junction Motor Speedway. The event was round three of the Speedway Motors Midget Money Week presented by RevHoney Energy Drinks, sanctioned by the POWRi, USAC/SMRS and RMMRA Midget Series.

Clauson won the previous features Sunday at US 36 Raceway (Cameron, Mo.) and Butler Motorplex (Rising City, Neb.) on Monday. Wednesday’s victory in the 35-lap feature was worth $5,000 to the 21-year old driver from Noblesville, Ind. The feature saw three different leaders before Clauson took command at the one-third mark of the event.

Brad Loyet paced the initial lap, before Jerry Coons Jr. led the next three laps. Zach Daum then took over as leader, before Clauson made the winning pass on lap 12. Loyet, Coons and Daum all failed to finish the event. Clauson driving the Corey Tucker owned Spike/Ford-Esslinger#39, finished ahead of last year’s event winner Brad Kuhn, Chad Boat, Don Droud Jr., and Davey Ray. Loyet continues to lead the POWRi points heading into the Aug. 11 Arnie Knepper Memorial at Belle-Clair Speedway (Belleville,IL).
