Four in a Row for Daggett with ASCS SOD Win at I-96

By T.J. Buffenbarger

LAKE ODESSA, Mich. (August 7, 2010) – Dustin Daggett continued his winning streak in Engine Pro ASCS Sprints on Dirt presented by ARP competition by winning Saturday night’s feature event I-96 Speedway in Lake Odessa, MI. The win was Daggett’s fourth in a row and second during the weekend.

Bill Jacoby and Robert Huisken started on the front row for the 25-lap feature event. After the initial start was called back for a spin by Mike Daggett and Dain Naida, Jacoby led the field into turn one during the second attempt at starting the feature. Two laps later Tim Champlin slid off the race track to bring out another caution flag.

After the restart Daggett moved up to second position sweeping around third running Aaron Shaffer and Huisken for second in turns one and two. Five laps later Daggett used the same line to move around Jacoby for the lead.

Then on lap 10 Gregg Dalman lost a left rear wheel and flipped off the track in turn three. Dalman emerged from his car under his own power.

After the cleanup from the Dalman accident Daggett motored away from the field and was never seriously challenged. Brett Mann moved up to second place after starting eighth and point leader Ryan Grubaugh to third after starting 17th. Jacoby and Rutan rounded out the top five.
