Skagit Night #1 Roundup

From CDR

Following the event in Cottage Grove, Oregon on Wednesday, Craig Dollansky and the rest of the World of Outlaws headed further north in the Pacific Northwest to Alger, Washington for more bullring racing action at the highbanked 3/10-mile of Skagit Speedway.

A strong field of 35 sprinters showed up for the opener of the two day event with Dollansky turned a lap of 11.731 seconds which was the 21st fastest lap and put the Big Game Treestands #7 team in a hole early. Starting from outside of row three in the first heat race, Dollansky held on to the fifth position and transfer into the feature event as only the top five in each of the four heat races transferred directly into the main event.

Because the cars that didn’t compete in the dash race are lined up by qualifying times for the feature, Dollansky was slated to start the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 from the outside of row ten in the 30-lap contest. As the race got underway, Dollansky moved up a couple spots until a caution for debris on the racetrack slowed action on lap three. When racing resumed, Dollansky continued to hold his position and then start to pass a few cars but was never able to mount a big charge to the front in the remaining laps as the Big Game #7 crossed the checkers in 14th position.

The Big Game Treestands #7 team wraps up racing action tonight at Skagit Speedway with night #2 as the winner will pocket $20,000.
