September 27, 2010 – Through the generosity of fans and supporters of the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders, their finale this Saturday night, September 25, at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Iowa will pay $2,000 to the winner. The Sprint Invaders standings have been close all year, and it will all come to an exciting conclusion in Donnellson! That’s not all. Show your i-wireless phone at the gate and receive admission for just $5!

“Showtime” Kaley Gharst has used a strong month to build a 53 point lead in his quest for a second series’ championship (his first was in 2007). Little has been settled beyond that, however. Two-time champion “Flyin'” Ryan Jamison enters the night second in the standings, but he is separated by just one marker from third place Matt Sutton. Donnie Steward has used a solid year to nail down the fourth spot, while 2009 Rookie of the Year Ben Wagoner, who won at Lee County in July, rounds out the top five.

Gharst has won more features than anyone in series history. The 22 year old already has 17 career wins with the Sprint Invaders and leads the series in wins at the Lee County Speedway with four in his short career, including one there earlier this year.

Kaley will have plenty of company in his quest for a fifth win at the 3/8 mile. Car counts have been around the 30 mark in the previous two visits to the track in 2010. The oval has hosted more Sprint Invader events than any other track in series’ history. This will mark the 32nd time the Invaders have competed in Donnellson. Last week, “The Magician” Jeff Mitrisin won his seventh career feature with the Invaders at the Farley Speedway. Three of his wins have come at Lee County. Terry McCarl, Sutton and John Schulz have also shown their prowess by capturing three wins apiece there.

Gates open on Saturday at 5:00 p.m., with hot laps scheduled for 6:30! Admission is $15 for adults ($5 with i-wireless phone), $14 for seniors and $5 for students aged 11-17. 10 and under are FREE! The rain date will be October 2.
