USAC National Drivers Champ Recieves Indy Lights Ride for 2011

Indianapolis, IN — The United States Auto Club and the IZOD Indy Car Series made an announcement on Wednesday that first USAC National Drivers Champion will have the opportunity to drive in the Firestone Indy Lights series oval events during the 2011 season. The first race for the USAC driver in the Indy Lights car will be the 2011 Freedom 100.

IZOD IndyCar Series CEO Randy Bernard and USAC President and CEO Kevin Miller were joined by other officials and USAC drivers Levi Jones and Bryan Clauson for the announcement held on the pit lane at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

This is the first year of the USAC National Drivers Championship that crowns and overall champion between the three USAC National Divisions (Midget Car, Sprint Car, and Silver Crown) with a driver’s best 25 finishes counting towards the championship.
