This Saturday evening the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour will honor its 2010 season champions at its annual banquet, to be held at the Refectory Restaurant & Bar in Portland.

Theo McCarty, the sprint car champion, and Doug Kammerzell, the midget car champion, will be recognized for their efforts during the 2010 season. For each driver, their 2010 championships were their first in the NWWT.

All drivers who finished in the Top 10 in the season point standings and are in attendance on Saturday will receive trophies and will be given a moment at the podium to thank sponsors and give any remarks they may have. The NWWT will also give hard luck awards in both classes and as well awards for most improved driver.

Another special award, that for Most Inspirational, will be voted on by the membership in attendance on Saturday and will be awarded that night to the winner.

McCarty, who is also the president of the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour, has been busy working on the 2011 season. During the banquet, McCarty will be filling in the membership on some of what could be happening next year.

Aaron Reed, an amateur videographer who recorded all three NWWT events at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. this season, has created a 13-minute video with footage and own personal photography from all three events that will be shown at the banquet on Saturday.

The Refectory Restaurant & Bar is located at 1618 NE 122nd (zip code 97230) in Portland, southeast of the interchange between I-205 and I-84. Cocktails will be served starting at 6:00 p.m. Those who pre-ordered will receive their dinner at 7:00 p.m. with award ceremonies expected to start around 8:30 p.m.
