Port Royal – Port Royal Speedway will have a fleet of racecars on display at this weekends annual Motorama indoor speed show and auto races at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex.

Fans from near and far will flock to the Cameron Street facility on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 9 AM to watch go kart, arena cross and quarter midget racing along with other divisions. And adjacent to all the racing will be a giant motorsports show and exhibition.

Port Royal’s display will feature no less than eight racecars including the late models of Gary Beward, Andy Haus, Tim Wilson and Derrick Casner. Also scheduled to be on display are sprints belonging to Nicole Bower and Steve Storrie including Storrie’s USAC racer. Steve Buckwalter’s ARDC Midget will also be on hand.

Copies of the upcoming 2011 schedule of events will be available at the Port Royal Motorama display. More details on Motorma are available at www.motoramaevents.com.

Oval work crews toiled the entire weekend of February 12 and 13 at the speedway as part of a continuing effort to ready the speedway for the new season.

Truckload after truckload of backfill rumbled into the speedway pit area both days as heavy equipment worked to level the material as part of a project that will culminate with an expanded, more spacious and more level pit area featuring a new layout. Electrical and fencing projects were also being undertaken.

The speedway expects to launch a new website within the next seven to 10 days.

An exciting 2011 schedule of events featuring visits by the USAC sprints, ARDC midgets, URC sprints and the All Star Circuit of Champions sprints is available on the current speedway website. Popular events returning in 2011 include the Keystone Cup, PA Speedweek and the Dream Race.

The 2011 season opener featuring 410 and 358 sprint cars at Port Royal Speedway is slated for March 19 at 6 PM. The late models join the 410 sprints one week later.
