Searching for Gold at Silver Dollar Speedway: Mini Gold Cup Awaits Kraig Kinser this Week

By Parsons Motorsports PR

Granger, IA—March 10, 2011—The last time that Kraig Kinser competed in the Mini Gold Cup, he finished on the podium to score his best career finish at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico, California. With the traditional West Coast opener back on the World of Outlaws schedule this season, Kinser will take to the always racy ¼-mile bullring on Saturday, March 12 as the series kicks off a string of five races at five different tracks in the Golden State over the next four weeks, looking to continue to build momentum in his first season behind the wheel of the Casey’s General Store Maxim for the Parsons Motorsports team.

Kinser finished third in the Mini Gold Cup in 2009, the last time that it was on the World of Outlaws schedule. That marked the second Top-Five finish for the third generation driver at the track, as he ran fourth at Chico on the second night of the 2008 Gold Cup Race of Champions.

The native of Bloomington, Indiana made his debut at Silver Dollar Speedway in 2004 during the Gold Cup. After a few years away, he returned to Chico in 2008 finishing fourth on the second preliminary night and followed that up with a solid ninth-place effort in the finale.

Last season during the Gold Cup, Kinser finished 12th in the opener, 18th on the second night and was 16th in the 40-lap finale.

Entering the Mini Gold Cup this weekend, Kraig is ninth in the World of Outlaws standings on the strength of three Top-10 finishes and one Top-Five.

Kraig on Silver Dollar Speedway:

“You have to approach it just about the same way you do every other track on the schedule. You want to learn as much as you can for when you go back for the Gold Cup and the track will probably be a little different this time early in the season compared to what it’s like in the fall for the Gold Cup. You certainly want to be firing on all cylinders and everyone on the Casey’s General Store team is working hard and we are looking forward to getting back in action and are really excited to be racing in California for the next few weeks.”
