PASS Racesaver Sprints set for 2011 opener at Path Valley

The PA Sprint Series kicks off its 13th season this weekend with a special Saturday appearance at Path Valley Speedway (weather permitting). The series which started in 1998 has grown to 56 on the active roster. The series has a 34 race schedule planned this year with stops and Path Valley, Susquehanna, Port Royal, Clinton County, Williams Grove, Lincoln, Hesston, and Central PA Speedway. The schedule includes the second annual PASS Speed Weekend which will be expanded to 4 days this year from June 30th thru July 3rd Starting at Susquehanna and Clinton County and ending up at Central PA Speedway. The Speed Weekend will also feature an interregional; race at Lincoln Saturday night. Several new teams have joined the series this year and numerous other teams are also in the process of preparing rides.

Cowboy Jim Kennedy will be missing from the line-up this week in a rare no-show as he is recovering from surgery to remove his appendix. The ageless veteran will return to Susquehanna next week for the season opener there.
