Port Royal – The 410 sprint car drivers won’t be the only ones with a chance to walk away from the All Star Bob Weikert Memorial with a haul on Saturday as fans stand to win and pocket some loot too.

Todd Weikert and the Weikert’s Livestock family will graciously give away five girls bicycles and five boys bicycles at intermission during the Weikert Memorial, run to honor Weikert’s patriarch, late and great car owner Bob Weikert.

In addition, just like Bob Weikert himself used to do at his famous Beef Night promotions at the speedway, Weikert’s will give away prize packages of beef worth hundreds of dollars to fans during the event.

Up for grabs will be 20 prize beef packages including five-pound boxes of hamburger patties and 10-pound boxes of hot dogs.

Weikert’s massive Beef Night programs at Port Royal Speedway in the 1990’s were some of the most extremely popular local promotions ever to be held in the area.

Plus, fans who gather to take in the spectacle have plenty to look forward to on the track.

As part of a conjoined effort between Weikert’s Livestock, the Weikert family and current car owner Jesse Keen, fans will get to see the famed, legendary Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 circle the track just one more time.

Keen’s customary No. 17 driven by Tyler Walker will carry the Weikert’s colors and number for the event as a way of paying homage to the always powerful and proud car owner Bob Weikert and his iconic No. 29 red, white and blue sprint cars.

Keen’s Weikert’s car will be schemed after perhaps one of the most identifiable versions of the machine through the years, that of the historic seasons when Midwestern pilot Doug Wolfgang dominated sprint car racing across the nation in the mid-1980’s aboard the terrorizing Weikert No. 29.

And if ever there was a present day example of the kind of driving talents Weikert looked for, it certainly can be found in Keen driver Tyler Walker.

Gates for Saturday’s $7,100 to win, $100 to lead a lap, 30-lap All Star Bob Weikert Memorial open at 5 PM with time trials slated for 7. Adult General Admission is $20.00 with students admitted for just $10.00.

A sweep by the winner of all 30-laps plus fast time would garner some $10,100.
