All Star Circuit of Champions

June 12, 2011 – Brad Doty is Still Wide Open. That is the title, of course, of his autobiography, penned with Dave Argabright. Fans attending Ohio Speedweek can meet Brad and get the updated copy of either the new standard edition, or the “Collector’s Edition” books signed.

Brad will be appearing and signing books at three stops during Ohio Speedweek. On Saturday, June 18, he will be at the K-C Raceway in Chillicothe. On Wednesday, June 22, he will be at Sharon Speedway near Hartford, and on Friday, June 24, he’ll be joined by Dave Argabright at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima. The “Brad Doty Classic” is right around the corner in Lima as well. He will be meeting with fans and signing at that World of Outlaws event, on Wednesday, July 13.

Still Wide Open has been “enhanced and expanded”, and includes three new chapters as well as an increase in the number of color photos. Only 500 copies of the “Collector’s Edition” exist, so don’t miss your opportunity to grab a piece of racing history!

Brad Doty’s story remains one of the most inspiring and powerful in all motorsports. He soared to the pinnacle of sprint car stardom, only to be cut down in a devastating 1988 crash. A spinal injury stole his ability to walk, but as this heartfelt and critically-acclaimed volume attests, it couldn’t diminish his will to live.

Brad explains why he and Dave decided to bring back and expand on Still Wide Open. “The original book was done in 1999. Now it has been twelve years since the book came out. We added three chapters on what’s been going on in my life. We talk about the TV business and the people I’ve worked with, Steve, Sammy and Haud still winning races, and some of the younger drivers. We talk about how I became involved in promoting the Brad Doty Classic.”

The new standard edition is enhanced. “There are three additional chapters, and we have a few new photos. It has a new cover and we have color photos now,” says Brad. “The first edition was all black and white.”

Many fans will be interested in the “Collector’s Edition”. There have only been 500 copies made, and all have been numbered and stamped. “The ‘Collector’s Edition’ has the additional chapters, 40 additional photos, a black premium bound cover with gold embossment,” says Brad.

If you can’t make it to one of Brad’s signings this summer, you can always order your copy of Still Wide Open at www.DaveArgabright.com!
