The Bryant Heating and Cooling Indianapolis Speedrome® is proud to welcome back the USAC Mopar National Midget Series. Pure Power Technologies & UAW present the UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic to be held on Friday July 29th. For the first-time in over 6 years, the best and brightest open wheel stars from around the country will compete on the famous fifth-mile. 2001 Speedrome champion Billy Wease will vie for the honored victory. He looks to join names like Irwin, Bliss, Stewart, Newman, Hines, and Leffler as winners of the Kenyon Classic. This will be the National Midgets 43rd appearance at the Speedrome dating back to the inaugural on August 3, 1958.

Billy Wease began racing at the age of 5 years old driving quarter midgets. Born in nearby Noblesville, he was fortunate to be near the motorsports capitol of Indianapolis. The racing roots run deep in his family steering his destiny towards being driver. And so far in his relatively young life, he has seen just about everything on the race track. He not only enters this great event as a former Speedrome champion, Billy won the 100-lap USAC Mopar National Midget Series race held here on August 4, 2004. That magical night he bested a super strong podium of Dave Steele and Bobby East after leading the final 97 circuits.

His open wheel resume includes victories in the prestigious Turkey Night Grand Prix, at the Irwindale Speedway, USAC Mopar National Midget winner at Iowa and a second in the 2007 Night Before the 500 event. Wease is a former Car of Tomorrow development driver for Penske Racing. He has experience at all levels of NASCAR, ARCA, USAC and about anything with wheels. The talented ace impressed many with a 2nd place result in his first ARCA stockcar start at Michigan International Speedway in 2006. Billy has driven at such legendary tracks as Talladega, Richmond, Rockingham, and so many more. “I can’t wait to come race at the Indianapolis Speedrome”. We are proud to have Billy Wease entered for the Pure Power Technologies & UAW 100 Mel Kenyon Classic on Friday July 29th.
