Top Ten in Summer Nationals Finale

The ‘Month of Money’ continued on Saturday for the Big Game Treestands #7 team as they returned to Williams Grove Speedway for the final night of the Summer Nationals as they looked to break the 13-race win streak of Pennsylvania drivers at the famous half-mile.

Another great field of ‘Outlaws’ and ‘PA Posse’ contingent assembled at the paper-clip shaped track with Dollansky rocketing to the 3rd fastest time among the 45 competitors at 17.168 seconds. In heat race competition the Karavan Trailers Maxim started fourth and gained one spot to make the dash by virtue of Dollansky’s qualifying effort. The dash inversion of four would just miss Dollansky who started fifth and slipped back to 9th by the completion of the 6-lap event.

In the 30-lap, $20,000-to-win, A-Main the Aggressive Hydraulics #7 started inside row five and gained one position following two cautions by just the second lap. As racing continued ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ lost a position to Posse member Greg Hodnett on lap 10 but would battle with Sam Hafertepe Jr. and reclaim the eighth position before the caution flag flew on lap 25. The final five laps saw Dollansky race and Danny Dietrich with the #48 stealing the position before the checkered flags flew as Dollansky still earned a top-ten by finishing in 9th.

“Friday we battled an ill-handling race car but made some changes for Saturday and got qualified a lot better at third quick,” commented the driver of the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products sprinter. “We got ourselves in the dash but weren’t real good in the dash and ultimately lost a few positions. We just tried to keep up with the changes on the race track and had a decent car in the feature. At one point we were up to seventh and had a restart with five to go and lost a couple spots.”

The heat of summer and racing action continues tonight for the Big Game Treestands #7 team at Lebanon Valley Speedway in New York.
