ARDC RETURNS TO ACTION SATURDAY AT MERCER RACEWAY PARK

From ARDC

The ARDC Wingless Midgets will head west on Route 80 this Saturday night to Mercer Raceway Park to compete in the annual Sprint Slugout along with the 410 Sprint Cars, Outlaw Warrior Sprints, 358 Modifieds, Stocks and Mini Stocks.

After a fifth place finish at Big Diamond last Friday, Drew Heistand of Wrightsville, PA has retaken the point lead, previously held by Phillipsburg, NJ’s Nick Wean.

Currently sitting third in points is Big Diamond winner Ryan Smith of Kunkletown, PA. After a slow start to the season, Smith has been on fire, winning his first race of the season on Memorial Day Weekend and two more since.

So far in the first half of the season the toughest award to give out would be most improved, with a trio of second year drivers with three wins between them battling it out.

Alex Bright from Collegeville, PA has one win on the season, Steve Drevicki of Reading just picked up his second of the year at Big Diamond while, Hampstead, MD speedster Steve Bull has yet to grab a checkered but has been up front all season.

Another second year Midget driver but one with a lot of racing experience is Wampum’s Joe Butera. Joe, who has already practiced his Midget at Mercer, spent a number of season’s behind the wheel of a 410 Sprint Car.

The gates will open at 4:00pm with hot laps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
