Thunderstorms halt Fremont action…double features planned

From Brian Liskai

FREMONT, Ohio – Heavy thunderstorms struck Fremont Speedway Saturday as the B-main for the 410 sprints was on the track, forcing the cancellation of the rest of the action on Burger King Night.

Since all heat races were completed, there will be no rain checks.

The Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints will make up the rest of the B-main and the A-main on Saturday, Aug. 13, in addition to a complete program for the division. Also in competition will be the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 sprints as they battle the NRA Sprint Invader 360 sprints in the JLH General Contractors Night special.

The Fremont Fence & Guardrail Dirt Trucks will run their B-main and A-main make-up as part of the Sept. 4 racing along with their regular night’s show. Also in competition will be the late models and the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints in their traditional invitational, one of the richest paying events in the nation for that division.

The 305 sprint B-main and A-main make-up will be part of the Sept. 10 regular show. They will also compete in a regular night of racing with the 410 sprints and dirt trucks.
