MUSEUM TO HOST “INTRODUCING… RAGER & TASKER PHILLIPS” ON THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15, AS PART OF ITS “SPRINT CAR 101” SERIES

By Bob Baker

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (September 9, 2011) – The National Sprint Car Museum’s “Sprint Car 101” Third Thursday Series will continue to explore the next generation of area sprint car racers as it will present “Introducing… Rager & Tasker Phillips” on Thursday, September 15. The free and open-to-the-public program will be held on the museum’s second floor and it will begin at 7 p.m. This two-hour program will be the second aimed at sprint car racing’s ‘young guns’, with the Pleasantville brothers following last year’s introduction of Dustin Selvage of Indianola.

According to museum executive director Bob Baker, “We continue to look for more ways to engage young fans in the racing at Knoxville Raceway and in the sport’s history here at the National Sprint Car Museum. And, thanks to people like the Rankin’s, the Wadle’s and the Smith’s, we are doing just that with our Sprint Car 101 Third Thursday Series. I want to thank both Rager and Tasker Phillips for taking time out of their busy fall farming season to join us as we explore their lives and the beginnings of their respective racing careers. Each has shown promise in a sport that is sometimes tough to break into and make a name for oneself.”
