SELINSGROVE, PA – Driving the CHR No. 12 sprint car, Selinsgrove’s Blane Heimbach wrapped up his third career Selinsgrove Speedway track title recently in the 358 sprint division.

During the 2011 season, the now 29-year old pilot drove his black and orange racer to three victories at the historic Snyder County oval.

The team crossed the finish line first in on April 2, April 9 and again on July 9.

In addition to the wins, the CHR team also pocketed four runner-up finishes, a trio of thirds, and single finishes of fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth.

Heimbach’s previous Selinsgrove crowns came back to back in 2005 and 2006.

He is now tied with Chad Layton for the most track titles in the 358 class at the track since the division became the weekly featured attraction there back in 2001.

Other three time sprint car track champions in the history of the speedplant prior to 2001 are Bobbie Adamson in 1967, 1970 and 1972; and Todd Shaffer in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

Selinsgrove native Heimbach continues to hold the top spot on the Selinsgrove Speedway all time 358 sprint win list with 33 victories to his credit to go along with his latest track crown.

The Selinsgrove track title caps a season that also saw Heimbach win in 410 sprint competition during the season opener at Port Royal Speedway.

The 410 team also had impressive runs going in both the Port Royal Tuscarora 50 and the Selinsgrove National Open only to suffer a flat tire in both events, keeping them out of the limelight.

Their successes in 2011 have put the team at 63 overall wins to date since pairing in 2002.
