Atlanta, GA – April 4, 2012 – The United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear Outlaw Thunder Tour and Filter charged by K&N Filters for winged sprint cars roars back into action with the USCS presented by Goodyear Southern Thunder Tour regional series season opener with a North Carolina/Georgia dirt track double-header at two tracks approximately two hours apart on Friday and Saturday, April 13th and 14th.
The USCS winged outlaw style sprint cars converge on Carolina Speedway in Gastonia, North Carolina on Friday, April 13th for their first appearance of the season at the 4/10 mile red clay oval. On Saturday night April 14th the series then invades the 5/16 mile red clay oval at Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia. Both races pay $2000 to win the main event with one driver able to collect $4300 including dashes and bonuses.
Several weekly racing divisions including the NDRA GM Performance Late Models, Street Stocks and Renegades join the winged warriors of the USCS at Carolina Speedway on Friday night with a full program of racing action in each of those divisions. Additionally a strong field of the USCS 600 Sprint Car Series mini/micro sprint competitors will open their 2012 Southern Lightning Tour at Carolina.
On Saturday night, In addition to the powerful United Sprint Car Series winged sprint cars, the April 14th racing program at Toccoa Speedway will feature the popular Southeastern Late Model Sportsman Series plus five of Toccoa Speedway’s weekly racing divisions including the Fastrak Pro Late Models, Hobby, Modified Street, Stock Fours and Rookie Fours. Additionally the USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini/micro sprint cars will join the action-packed racing program at Toccoa Speedway.
