Cody Darrah and the World of Outlaws are having a heated battle with Mother Nature as they were again rained out for a Saturday night showing, but Friday night, the youngster scored an eighth place finish as the series invaded the Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY.

Lining up his Schroth Racing/Team ASE/Sage Fruit Maxim in the seventh row, Darrah quickly adapted to the slicked off track and began picking up positions.

Overcoming a pair of mid race cautions, Darrah was able to move inside the top-ten as he then began battling Stevie Smith and David Gravel.

As the trio all battled for the eighth spot, it was Darrah finally grabbing the position for good, as he then set his sights on Geoff Dodge for the seventh spot.

Dodge was able to fend off Darrah, and Cody would bring his Justin Adams tuned machine home in the eight spot.

“It was a pretty good night,” said Darrah. “Qualifying is so huge out here, and when you miss the heat race inversion, it really puts to back for the night, but my guys gave me a strong car and we salvaged a top-10.”

In preliminary action, Darrah timed in 14th quickest of the 29 cars in the pit area, and in heat race action, the Red Lion, PA native scored a fourth place finish putting him directly in the feature event.

ON TAP- Cody Darrah and his Kasey Kahne Racing team will return to action Friday night in the Show Me State, as they are slated for action in Sedalia, MO.
