After a much anticipated week end “at home”, things are starting to look up.

The Home Pride, Certified Transmission # 53 machine spent last week end racing in his own back yard with the Midwest ASCS.

Friday night, after starting deep in a heat race and having the car come out of gear at the midway point, Jack would have to run a B Feature. There have been many times that Jack has come from the back of a B at Eagle and has even gone on to win the A Feature, but that was not the case on Friday night. Starting dead last in the B Feature, Jack passed about half the field in the first 2 laps, but then on a “one lane, around the bottom” race track, there wasn’t much more Jack could do, and would come up 2 spots short of making the main event. That has not happened at Eagle in many years.

Saturday night, with the pits and stands completely full, due to NASCAR star, Tony Stewart being there, Jack was up for the task. Once again, Jack would start 8th in his heat race, and was able to run up to 2nd, making the redraw. Jack drew the #4 pill, putting him outside of the 2nd row in the A Feature. The initial start did not work in Jack’s favor and he was shuffled back to 6th, but was up on the wheel, and by lap 3 was in the 3rd position, and was right on Tony Stewart’s tail, but after missing his spot at the midway point in the non stop race, Jack lost a little ground, and was never able to make a run at the leaders. Tony Stewart would go on to win the Feature event, with Stu Snyder finishing 2nd and Jack taking the last spot on the podium….finally….a top 3 for the year.

It has been a pretty rough start to the new racing season, with equipment failure, and a whole lot of bad luck, a third place finish was good for the entire crew at JDR. Now hopefully the team will have something to build on.

Was great to have Tony Stewart at Eagle this past week end, he is a true Ambassador for the sport of racing in any form. We hope he will make back to Eagle again this season, Jack loves to race with him.

This coming week end will see the JDR team back on the road again. Friday night Jack will be at Salina High banks Speedway in Salina Ok, and then on to Riverside Speedway, in West Memphis, Ark for the Rock n Roll 50 on Saturday with the National ASCS tour both nights. Jack has never raced at the Salina High banks Speedway, but has made the trip to West Memphis numerous times. Remember for those of you, who can not be there, listen live, via the internet at www.racinboys.com

Thanks to everyone who came out this past week end…was great to see so many of our fans.

See you at the track soon.
