Port Royal – A trio of Weikert’s Livestock No. 29 drivers will greet fans for autographs when they arrive for Saturday night’s All Star Circuit of Champions Sprints Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway.

Beginning at 5 p.m. behind the grandstand, pilots Kevin Frey, Keith Kauffman and Jac Haudenschild will be on hand to meet and greet fans and sign autographs.

Also joining the group will be Jac Haudenschild’s son, 19-year old Sheldon Haudenschild, who will be on hand campaigning the Wintermyer No. 3W in the event.

Kauffman, the oval’s winningest driver in history with 129 victories, piloted the Weikert mount to much success on a couple of occasions, in the early 1980s and again in the early 1990s and garnered Weikert’s only Port Royal track title in 1981.

Before a long and successful touring career with the World of Outlaws, Haudenschild piloted the Weikert No. 29 for a brief stint in the early 1980s. Later in his career, known as “The Wild Child,” Haudenschild went on to score massive victories in the Kings Royal, Historical Big One and the Mopar Million sprint events plus some 50 World of Outlaws checkered flags.

Frey, now a noted and respected sprint car mechanic, piloted successfully for Weikert in the mid-1990s, mostly at Selinsgrove Speedway.

Sheldon Haudenschild is following in his father’s footsteps, having moved into sprint competition during the last few seasons.

Saturday’s Weikert Memorial will offer fans young and old a chance to not only get autographs but to go home winners as well.

Youth ages 11 and under will have the chance to win 10 bicycles courtesy of Weikert’s Livestock of Fairfield.

Registration for the prize bike giveaways will take place behind the grandstand from 6 p.m. until the end of time trials.

Some 20 boxes of Weikert’s beef hot dogs and hamburgers will be given away off of adult general admission wristbands.

The purse for Saturday’s All Star Circuit of Champions Bob Weikert Memorial at Port Royal Speedway has neared $38,000 after the Monday addition of $100 to win each of the heat races conducted in the event in honor of the late motorsports journalist Jerry Reigle courtesy of Hoseheads.com.

The Jerry Reigle heat races worth $100 each gets added to the pot of gold that has become the 2012 Weikert Memorial purse.

Thanks to Weikerts Livestock and its family of sponsors, the 30-lap event is paying a whopping $10,000 to win, $500 just to start and $100 to lead a lap.

Plus, $200 is up for grabs as the fast time award and $100 courtesy of Crankwerkz will go to the highest driver in Port Royal points who fails to qualify for the prestigious event.

Gates for Saturday’s $10,000 to win, $100 to lead a lap, 30-lap All Star Bob Weikert Memorial open at 5 PM with time trials slated for 7. Adult General Admission is $20.00 with students admitted for just $5.00.

A sweep by the winner of all 30-laps plus fast time and his heat race would garner the winner more than $13,000.
