After a total of four seasons together chasing the major sprintcar events across the country, the combination of driver Cameron Gessner and car owner Peter and Wendy Green has come to end. As a result, Gessner is now on the lookout for an opportunity with another team for the 2012/13 season and beyond.

Gessner and Green certainly are parting ways in the best possible fashion by last month picking up the winning spoils in the Queensland Title and before that, taking out the Tri City Shootout Series (Queensland’s Easter Trail version) after consistent performances over the three nights. Gessner’s victory in the second night at Archerfield Speedway of the Tri City Shootout Series also doubled as the Crispy Memorial, which was his fourth success in the events five season history.

Gessner, who aside from his late season success was a preliminary feature race winner during the World Series Sprintcar Championship Grand Final at the Perth Motorplex in Western Australia earlier this season, was rapt with the way he was able to end the 2011/12 season and his time with car owner Green.

“We couldn’t have planned to end our four seasons together any better, and it was a great way to go out,” commented Gessner, who’s now based in Western Australia working with one of his sponsors, Titan Plant Hire, as a diesel mechanic. “Peter [Green] said to me at the beginning of this season that this would be our last, as he wanted to start focusing more on other things in his life away from speedway.”

In regards to next season and beyond, the two time Australian Title podium finisher remains upbeat about his chances of being able to link up with another front running sprintcar team.

“I’ve proven over the seasons that I can mix it with the best drivers in the country and still feel that I still have a lot to offer any team looking for a driver, both on and off the track,” the 31-year-old confidently said. “I’ll be on the lookout throughout the off season to try and work out a deal with a team for next season.”

Gessner is keen to talk with any teams on the lookout for a driver for the 2012/13 season. He can be contacted on 0409 570 114 or camerongessner@yahoo.com

Gessner would like to thank Peter and Wendy Green, Kerri and Steve Courtney, Nathan MacDonald and Noel Gessner, along with all of the team’s pit crew members and sponsors for all of their tremendous support over the past four seasons.
