Port Royal – Port Royal Fairgrounds Speedway will present Salute To The Military Pepsi Night on June 2 at 7 pm featuring the Aumillers Insurance Sprint Cars, AB Auto Glass Late Models, Millers Auto Parts Pro Stocks and the Casners Service Center/Juniata Tire Sales Enduro Dash divisions.
Free admission (with id) will be granted to all past or present members of all branches of the military for the program as the oval honors our heroes of the armed forces throughout the night. American flag pins will be handed out to fans as they enter the stands.
Members of the local Army/National Guard post based in Lewistown will be on hand to help honor those vets in attendance. The post will be supplying a piece of post apparatus for the event along with information on how to become a member of the Army/National Guard.
Free Pepsi shirts and hats will also be given out to the first 100 fans passing through the gates as part of Pepsi Night.
Thanks to Pepsi, also up for grabs to general admission fans during the night will be nearly 50 12-packs of Pepsi Cola products along with free passes to Hershey Park and Knoebels Grove Amusement Resort.
In addition, four complimentary tickets to the August 5 NASCAR race at Pocono Raceway will be given away to general admission fans, all courtesy of Pepsi.
A full program of qualifying will be presented for the 410 sprints, late models and pro stocks with the enduros spinning off a feature only.
So far this season, Greg Hodnett has been able to score five of seven sprint events held at the track although Chad Layton is the current point leader.
Tim Wilson has scored twice in late model action with single wins having gone to Scott Haus and Brett Schadel.
Pro stock mains this season have gone to Jeff Bryner, John Heane, AJ Stroup and Derrick Garman. Jason Zook has claimed the lone enduro dash of the year.
Gates for Saturday’s Military Salute Pepsi Night open at 5 pm. Non-military adult admission is $15 with students ages 12 – 18 admitted for just $5.
