Following a top-ten performance on Friday, Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team returned to Dodge City Raceway Park the next night for the conclusion of the Boot Hill Showdown on another steamy Kansas day.

Strapping in for his sixteenth event at the 3/8-mile track where he has recorded 11 top-tens and 5 top-fives, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ began the night by posting the 5th fastest lap in qualifying among the 28 other cars assembled. Heat race action saw the MobileStar #7 line up inside row two and finish 4th. Earning a spot in the dash by virtue of his qualifying effort, Dollansky just missed the inversion starting fifth and crossing the finish line in 7th.

A-Main action saw the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim start inside row four and move up a row following a caution on the first circuit. A red flag on the complete restart would be the final action-breaker as the 30-lap feature stayed green the rest of the way. Running fourth after lap 1, Dollansky battled with Cody Darrah for position and then worked the highside in turns 3 & 4 to motor around Joey Saldana on lap 10. As laps clicked off in the main event the Eaton’s Aeroquip Performance Products backed sprinter narrowed the gap on Steve Kinser for the runner-up spot but took the checkered flag in 3rd, the 12th podium finish of the World of Outlaws season for the Big Game Treestands #7 team.

“Dodge City is one of the more fun race tracks you can run, it’s hard with the wind and hot weather but the track held up pretty decent,” commented the pilot of the #7 sprinter. “It did end up rubbering up with ten to go and I hated to see that. DJ did a good job making some changes with the car after the dash and I was pleasantly surprised in the A-Main. Kraig did a great job, he’s been running good and Steve has been running good. For this Big Game Treestands, Aggressive Hydraulics, MobileStar, Aeroquip team to come home 3rd with some of the struggles we had this weekend we’ll take it.”

Action resumes this coming weekend with two events in eastern Kansas beginning Friday at Belleville Highbanks in Belleville and then Saturday at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City.
