Saturday night’s “Doug Fort Memorial” at Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway showcases the USAC West Coast Sprint cars in a program billed as the “War at the Shore.”

Bud Kaeding’s point lead in the series stands at 56 points over Matt Mitchell, while Santa Maria star Ryan Bernal rests third in the standings, 32 back on Mitchell.

Kaeding has victories at Bakersfield and Hanford and three seconds so far this season, including one at Santa Maria. Mitchell was second in the series opener and has added a pair of thirds and a pair of fourths, while Bernal owns both Santa Maria feature victories so far, plus one at Hanford.
