The anticipation is building for local sprint car teams as the Ontario Topless Sprints 2012 season events are set to take place this coming weekend at Humberstone Speedway in Port Colborne, Ontario and South Buxton Raceway near Chatham, Ontario. The action will begin at Humberstone on Friday night and then on to South Buxton Raceway on Saturday night for the first ever OTS experience.
Last year at Humberstone Speedway, 11 cars participated in the inaugural OTS race with Robbie Shuttleworth taking home the win. This year, a much larger turnout is expected, and with weekend events at Humberstone Speedway and South Buxton Raceway, fans will be in for a treat as they witness the Ontario Topless Sprints battle for the $1000 to win payday. Each event also pays a minimum of $250 to take the green, so even if you were to finish last each race, you would still take home $500.
“We are really excited about this weekend’s Ontario Topless Sprint events at Humberstone Speedway and South Buxton Raceway”, says series director Ken Bayliss. “We have worked hard to make this event even better then last year, and we hope that the teams will come up and support us, and we can continue to build this series into something that everyone will want to be a part of”.
Friday night’s action at Humberstone Speedway will get underway at 7:15pm, with gates swinging open at 5pm. On Saturday night at South Buxton Speedway, gates open at 5:30pm, with the first green flag taking place at 7pm.
