Andy Gregg had issues during the dash, and issues leaving the track, but the Placerville, CA driver was able to muster a seventh place finish with the Cancen Oil King of the West Series as they invaded the Antioch Speedway on Saturday night for the third and final time of 2012.

With 28 cars on hand, Gregg timed his 7 Industries/GUTS/Ervin Sales Group backed machine in with the 11th fastest time during time-trials, putting his No.53 machine in the third heat race.

Scoring the heat race win, Gregg transferred to the night’s dash where he started in the third spot after the pill-draw.

While running in the fourth spot, Gregg’s Autism Awareness/Pro Shocks/King Racing Products machine got out of shape and upside down big time ending his dash as he was scored in the eighth spot.

In the pit area it was a group effort getting the No.53 back together, and they did so by just finishing it up right before the horn sounded for the A feature.

Lining up in the fourth row, Gregg maintained inside the top-ten as he tip-toed around the speedway searching for traction.

Gregg continued to run in the seventh spot for much of the race as him and young Dominic Scelzi hooked up in an entertaining battle for the sixth spot late in the feature.

At the stripe Gregg was able to hang on to the seventh spot.

“It was a whirlwind night and I have to thank everyone who helped get the car back together for the feature,” said Gregg. “My guys, Corey and Robert, and also Aaron from Jason Statler’s team stepped up huge and changed all kinds of things. To cap it all off we blew a tire on the big rig on our way home.”

Andy would like to thank 7industries.com, GUTS Racing, Ervin Sales Group, Autism Awareness, Pro Shocks, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, The Air Tool, River City Alarm, Poor’s Equipment Repair, K and T Fab, Brown and Miller, Tarvin Images, C&R Racing, Amerikote, Meyer Motorsports, and Hinchman Racing for their support during the 2012 season.

ON TAP: Andy and his GUTS Racing team will now return back to the Placerville Speedway on Wednesday night as they take on the stars from the Lucas Oil ASCS National series.
