Heading into the 2012 season the Antioch Speedway in Antioch, CA had been very friendly to Jonathan Allard, however 2012 has been a different story as JA has had horrible luck at the speedway and that continued on Saturday night.

“This place has usually been one of my favorites, but the last couple times we have cam here, I have been snake bitten,” said Allard in regards to the Antioch Speedway.

With the Cancen Oil King of the West Series schedule quickly winding down, Allard has a comfortable point lead but is looking to end the season on a positive note.

Getting through his heat, Allard transferred directly to the feature event JA started the 30-lap feature in the ninth spot aboard the always-potent Williams Motorsports No.0.

As the feature event went green, JA laid down the hammer and got into a battle with Kyle Hirst as they ran in the ninth and 10th spot.

Contact with Hirst sent Allard to the rear of the field, and the current point leader simply put on a clinic during the next nine laps.

A determined Allard put his machine on the ragged edge as he ‘bobbed and weaved’ his way all the up to the seventh spot as he passed a flurry of cars in a hurry.

On the 13th lap it proved to be for not, as Allard was victimized on a double file restart, and his night was over.

“It’s pretty disheartening to not finish races,” said a disappointed Allard. “We had a great car, but unfortunately we were in the wrong place two times tonight.”

ON TAP: JA will now look to take on the stars of the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour at the Placerville Speedway on Wednesday night.
