KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 20, 2012) – Many of the 2011 North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll awards will be presented this Thursday night, August 23, at the United States Auto Club (USAC) sanctioned “Sprint Car Smackdown 1” at the Kokomo Speedway in Indiana.
According to National Sprint Car Museum curator Tom Schmeh today, “Photographer Dave Hill and I are excited to be going out this week for the first night of the inaugural ‘Sprint Car Smackdown’ at Kokomo, Indiana. We have a number of 2011 North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll awards to present, including Driver of the Year to Levi Jones, Team of the Year to Ken & Margo Baldwin and crew, Rookie of the Year to Logan Jarrett, Media Member of the Year to Sean Buckley, and Manufacturers of the Year to Jeff Claxton and John Godfrey. In fact it is only appropriate that we will be presenting Kokomo Speedway’s Jim O’Connor with his 2011 Promoter of the Year award at this inaugural three-day event, August 23-24-25.”
