Pepsi Midget Nationals ready for Saturday September 1

Sun Prairie, Wis., August 29—Former winners Scott Hatton (2004, ’05) and Davey Ray (2003) headline the list of drivers excepted to compete in the 31st annual Pepsi Midget Nationals at Angell Park Speedway on Saturday Night Sept.1.
Seven Companies have added extra money to the event, bringing the winners total to at least $3,000 and $300 to start. They include: Stark Automotive Group, Mid-State Equipment, Advance Fastening Supply, 1855 Saloon, Brooks Tractor, Conrad Real Estate, and The R.G. Huston Company. The 9th annual Dave Schulenberg Memorial Dash, will also be run during the evenings events.
Bubba Altig has clinched the Badger Drivers Championship, while the battle for the Car Owners Championship has Hans Lein leading D&I Motorsports by 74-points, with 116 available during the season finale. Darren Hagen current point leader in the National Midget Driver of the Year, and USAC National Midget Series will also compete in the RFMS Racing No. 3. Car Owner Keith Kunz will be seeking his third Pepsi Nationals victory as a car owner, with driver Rico Abreu. Kunz won the event with Page Jones (1993), and Jay Drake (2000).
Also competing on the evenings race card will be the Badger 600 Micros, where Chad Bogar has clinched the Championship, with two events remaining. Spectator Gates open at 4:30 pm with practice at 6 pm, racing begins at 7 pm. Adults are $15 with Students and Seniors $12, and Children 12 and under free.
