SELINSGROVE SPEEDWAY 2012 SEASON DOWN TO FINAL FOUR

SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Selinsgrove Speedway’s competitive 2012 season has come down to the final four races of the historic half-mile track’s 67th year of existence and 50th consecutive year of operation.

This Saturday, Sept. 8, will feature a four division show of A&A Auto Stores 358 sprint cars, Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center late models, Salem RV Center/Byers Built Engines pro stocks, and Collier Paving & Construction roadrunners at 7 p.m. Track gates will open at 5 p.m.

Entering this weekend’s action, the track’s divisional point leaders are Pat Cannon of Etters (7 wins/358-360 sprint cars), Jeff Rine of Danville (5 wins/late models), AJ Hoffman (4 wins/pro stocks), and Bob Bussey of Northumberland (8 wins/roadrunners).

On Saturday, Sept. 15, the speedway will present the Jim Nace Memorial 30th Anniversary National Open for 410 sprint cars presented by Selinsgrove Ford. Also on the racing card will be the super late models at 7 p.m. The rain date for the National Open is Sunday, Sept. 16, at 6 p.m.

The season’s final point race for the 358 sprint cars, late models, pro stocks, and roadrunners will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22.

Teams interested in participating in the race car display/driver autograph session as part of the annual Selinsgrove Market Street Festival during the morning and afternoon of Sept. 22 should contact Charlie Paige or Steve Inch at the speedway.

To close out the season, the speedway will host the inaugural $5,000-to-win Late Model Fall Classic at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6.

The DH&L Fire Co. will hold the annual Race Car Flea Market on the speedway grounds beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27.

The 12th Annual Selinsgrove Speedway & Raceway Park Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel. Banquet tickets can be purchased in the track office on race nights beginning this Saturday.
