PEORIA, Ariz. (November 6, 2012) – With the 45th Annual FVP Western World Championships presented by Sands Chevrolet little more than a week away, Tommie Estes, Jr., has been named Grand Marshal of the event set for November 15-17 atop the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park near Phoenix.

A native of Ada, OK, Estes, Jr., has had an active role in Sprint Car racing for nearly 40 years in several capacities including driver, official and now track manager.

Estes, Jr., ranked as a top Sprint Car driver over much of his 23-year driving career before taking the reins as Competition Director of the American Sprint Car Series in 1999. Playing a key role in the development and growth of ASCS and 360-ci Sprint Car racing over the next dozen years, Estes, Jr. stepped down from that position at the outset of the 2011 racing season.

Estes, Jr., took on the role of track manager at Dodge City Raceway Park in Dodge City, KS, in 2011 and remains in that position after recently completing his second year at the 3/8-mile clay oval in southwest Kansas.

Donny Schatz and Tracy Hines are the reigning Western World champions after topping last year’s winged and wingless feature events in winged Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour and wingless ASCS Canyon Region competition, respectively.

Single day tickets are $20 for both Thursday and Friday and then $25 for the November 17 Western World Championships finale, with a three-day pass available for $60. Children ages 7-12 are $10 for both Thursday and Friday and $15 for the Saturday finale, with a three-day pass available for $30.
