Mechanicsburg, PA — (December 15, 2012) — Williams Grove Speedway, the famed clay half-mile oval, will present 18 events for the 2013 Saturday Night Series. The successful racing series, featuring the Super Sportsman, 358 Late Models, and Street Stocks, will begin the new season on April 20.

The 2013 Saturday Night Series will present the three divisions for 17 of the 18 shows. The final race of the season, on September 6, will feature a Super Sportsman championship along with a topless race for the 358 Late Models and a visit by the ARDC Midgets.

The popular five-dollar admission will return in 2013. All adults enter the speedway grounds for just five dollars. The low admission allows families to enjoy an evening of automobile racing. The final race will not be a five-dollar event. The popular Meet and Greet will return. Before the races, drivers will bring their cars to the infield to meet the fans.

The big 2013 race will be the Super Sportsman Firecracker 40 to be held on July 6. Speedway management announced that the race will pay $3,000 to win and all other positions will receive a $200 increase in pay.

There will be several changes this year. There will be a printed racing program to provide current information to the Saturday night fans. The Super Sportsman drivers will have a new handicapping system. This year the drivers will draw for their qualifying races. The features will line up by driver points.

The Super Sportsman, as in the past, will race at Williams Grove Speedway on Saturdays. They will also travel to other local speedways. This year the Super Sportsman point title will end at Williams Grove. Last year the title race was at another local speedway; that will not occur this year or in the future.

Blazer’s Body Shop will return as the sponsor of the Super Sportsman. The Newville Construction Services will be back as the Street Stock sponsor. The speedway management is seeking a new sponsor for the 358 Late Models.

Williams Grove Speedway will present two practice sessions. The race teams in all three classes will be able to test their cars on Sundays March 10 and 17. The test sessions will be from 1 pm to 4 pm.

There will be Saturday Night Series information available at the upcoming winter racecar shows. Williams Grove Speedway will have a booth at the big Motorsports show in Oaks, PA. They will also be at the 2013 Dirt Trackin’ Show in York, PA., and at the Motorama show held at the Farm Show building in Harrisburg, PA.

The Williams Grove Speedway management wishes every one a very Happy Holiday.
