Biglerville, PA — (January 6, 2013) — Coming off of his most successful season in his brief 410 Sprint car career, Danny Dietrich is going full speed ahead into 2013 and it will all start in two weeks when the Gettysburg racer heads Down Under to compete in Australia.

“Double D” will make the long flight to Melbourne, AU on January 19th and will compete in four events at Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, AU including the 41st annual Lucas Oil Grand SprintCar Classic on January 27th.
“I’ll be driving a team car for Hennessy Racing,” said Dietrich, who won the 2012 Lincoln Speedway Sprint car championship. “All of this has been set up and made possible by Adrian Parr from Parr Motorsports. By the sounds of it, there are going to be about 80 plus cars including about 15 Americans at this event. It’s going to be exciting and it’s definitely an experience of a lifetime. If it goes well, hopefully it will be something we can do every year.”
Following Australia, Dietrich will head home to concentrate on getting the Gary Kauffman Racing team ready for the season and if all goes as planned, the GKR team plans to head south to compete with the All Star Circuit of Champions in Georgia and Florida as well as with the World of Outlaws in Florida.
“It’s going to depend on the business and if I’m able to get away plus I want to make sure we are ready to go because there won’t be much time to prepare for the local season with everything that’s going on,” he added. “We have one car already built and we need to get two more built before we go because we don’t want to sell ourselves short and get behind before the season starts. If we do head south and are faring pretty well in All Star East points, we will have to decide if we want to pursue that back here.” There are 15 races on East region tour, including five down south, three in New York and the rest here in Central Pennsylvania.
Dietrich said the GKR team plans to run the same schedule as last year but there will be one addition to the slate.
“Everything is booked for Knoxville,” DD stated. “Right now, we plan to head west following the Dream Race at Port Royal and make Sunday night’s show at Knoxville.” It will be the first time the young driver has ever seen Knoxville Raceway. “Other than that, we’ll be at Williams Grove and Lincoln every week and all of the other shows around the area.”
Dietrich said there will be three GKR Maxim chassis along with five fresh Ron Krimes Racing Engines ready for an all out assault on the Pennsylvania circuit this season.
The GKR #48 team is sponsored by Sandoes Fruit Market, Inc., Hickory Run Orchards, Gravers Garage, Racers New and Used Parts Warehouse, Drop of Ink Tattoo and Body Piercing, Mark Bell Trucking, Moritz Machine, B & C Auto Menders, El Vista Orchard, Bear Mountain Orchards, Fishers Auto Parts of Mt.
