The racing drought over the past month came to an end last weekend for Danny Reidy, when he contested the latest Sydney Speedway Sprintcar Track Championship round.

Due to a succession of rainouts in his home state of Queensland, Reidy has been unable to race, but last weekend the Reidy Racing team made the trek down to Sydney Speedway in NSW – ironically where Reidy last competed.

Reidy was on track for a podium result in the feature race up until he suffered a broken right rear shock in the closing stages, which denied him of a podium spot and saw him finish in fourth.

“We had a good run going in the feature race up until we broke a shock, and it affected the car’s handling,” commented Reidy, who had started the feature race out of position seven. “Despite the broken shock we still put up a good fight in those closing laps with the ill–handling car and just missed out on claiming the final spot on the podium at the finish line.”

The night for Reidy started strongly, when he posted the fifth fastest lap in time trials and then went on to book his spot into the feature race via a fifth–place finish in his heat race.

This Saturday night (March 16), the NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs supported driver plans to contest the latest round of the KRE Series at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane, Queensland.

Reidy would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012–13 season support.
