One of the country’s form drivers, Ian Madsen, will sub for Danny Reidy for this Saturday night’s latest round of the KRE Sprintcar Series at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane, Queensland.

Due to Reidy attending this weekend’s opening Speedway Grand Prix round in New Zealand, Madsen will step into the driver’s seat of Reidy’s NQ # 5 Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs supported J&J.

Madsen has certainly been one of the standout 2012–13 season drivers. Last weekend he dominated both nights of the $50,000 to Win Scott Darley Challenge at his home track, Sydney Speedway. Madsen picked up the $50,000 winner’s cheque, after he had started from position 19 in the feature race on the final night and charged his way forward to score a sensational last–lap victory.

The Archerfield Speedway track has been a happy hunting ground for Madsen this season, and from his four starts, he has recorded two wins, a second and a non-finish.

Madsen is looking forward to joining the Reidy Racing team, and the aim is for a strong result and nothing less.

“The Reidy Racing team have first–class equipment, and I’m looking forward to running the weekend, and hopefully I can bring home a finish on the podium somewhere,” said Madsen. “The offer was made from Danny (Reidy) the other weekend, and since I didn’t have any other commitments this weekend, I was more than happy to jump behind the wheel of his car.”

For the Reidy Racing team, this will be the first time in their 10–year history that a driver other than Danny Reidy has steered one of their cars.

The Reidy Racing team would like to thank Desert Palms Resort in Alice Springs, Camden Neon Signs, P&M Motor Body Repairs, Gonzo’s Race Pipes and Inglis Race Engines for all of their 2012–13 season support.
